After trying out several flying orbs, we found that our miniature dachshund loves chasing the Hajimari flying orb while we play catch in the yard.
It’s his absolute favorite game, and he gets so excited when he catches it that he wants us to chase him to get it back.
However, this can cause some stress to the orb, and he eventually destroys it. We made the mistake of trying some less expensive orbs, but they broke almost instantly.
In comparison, the Hajimari flying orb is the best and most durable flying orb we have tried. The other larger orbs are junk in comparison.
After getting the hang of it, the Hajimari flying orb is a really fun toy. To start, turn it on and keep the side marked “UP” facing skyward.
It may be a bit wobbly at first since most of the weight is on the motor, but shaking it will activate the fan and stabilize it. Hovering works well, and gently throwing it away from you without spin will cause it to come back nicely. The real fun begins when you introduce some spins.
A righthand curveball will travel straight until the spin exhausts itself and curve back a bit, while a lefthand curveball will fly directly to your right side. Curves that change the hover directions, or a “sinker,” are very chaotic and very fun.
The outer shell plastic is soft, so there’s no need to worry about damaging walls and furniture, and bouncing it around can be pretty fun. However, it’s best to avoid releasing it close to glass vases.
